#TutuTuesday with Bernice Coppieters, the original Fairy in Maillot's Cendrillon. Coppieters visited Seattle for two weeks last month to teach our dancers the choreography. The costumes for Cendrillon were designed by Jérôme Kaplan. Seattle audiences are familiar with Kaplan, as he also designed Roméo et Juliette and Don Quixote. On and offstage couple, Sarah Ricard Orza and Seth Orza have a long history with George Balanchine's The Nutcracker; before they were dancers at Pacific Northwest Ballet, they performed Mr. B's Nutcracker with New York City Ballet. This will be the second year they're dancing the title roles together, Sarah as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Seth as her Cavalier. Their 3-year old daughter can't wait. 💕
