Giddens School offers Preschool through 5th Grade children a strong, academic foundation to prepare them for the 21st century world. Our staff and families nourish a wonderful sense of self and a genuine love of learning in our students. Children graduate from Giddens School with a strong academic foundation; they become curious, socially responsive, and creative young people who are well-prepared to affect change throughout their lives and are equipped with the skills and concepts necessary to communicate and learn effectively.
Our 4/5 students visited the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge for further study of their landforms unit. They got to use microscopes to look at macroinvertebrates, explore wetland habitats, see wildlife, watch tides shape the land, and discover the Nisqually River estuary.

Our 4/5 students are exploring Northwest landforms as part of their SPARK unit. These photos show the first part of a process by tracing river maps of Washington State to create their own watercolor relief maps.
They are also becoming geologists and researching the past and present characteristics, the formation, and the human impact of the Cedar River.
When you are a Seattle kid, snow is pretty magical. Our K/1 students loved exploring the snow and ice on the playground during recess this week!
Giddens School will have a late start 2.7.17 due to weather. We'll open at 10:30 am with no AM EXD. All tours and visits are canceled.
Giddens School is closed today due to icy and snowy conditions.
If #SEAsnow makes a school schedule change necessary please remember that we follow Seattle Schools inclement weather decisions.
Our 4/5 and K/1 buddies developed comic strips together. This fun activity promotes friendship, literacy, and teamwork.
