SJCS provides an excellent, egalitarian Kindergarten through 5th grade General and Judaic education that promotes Jewish identity and practice, respect for diversity, responsibility for our world, and lifelong learning.

As the Jewish people are preparing to leave Egypt, they are given the imperative to "teach the story to their children." But “How should they teach them?” our commentators asks. The answer? Through asking questions!SJCS teachers know that teaching young people to ask questions is not only a foundation of our Jewish experience, but also an educational best practice!

Read our blog about how SJCS Judaic Studies teachers shared this Torah portion with a blended group of K-2 grade students in an exercise combining Judaic Studies, language development, and critical thinking skills. http://bit.ly/2kHorAJ

Yasher Koach to our imaginative and skilled faculty for the depth and diversity of educational opportunities they provide our students!

Yesterday SJCS students continued the tradition of fulfilling the mitzvah of kibud z'kenim, (honoring the elderly), by performing a concert at The Summit on First Hill.

As a gift to the residents they sang a wide range of contemporary and traditional Jewish music, celebrating our Jewish heritage, bringing joy to their audience, and making the SJCS community proud!
